Milton Road MusselburghThe ProjectThe client's brief was to design, manufacture and install a car park for a block of ninety six apartments on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
The 2500m2 car park will house 82 cars.
The basement walls were built in four weeks using dense concrete panels 250mm thick. The largest panels are 4m long and 3.1m high.
The contract comprised external and internal walls, three lift and stair cores and precast staircases from basement to the ground floor.
Steel beams and hollowcore floors are being fitted over the next three weeks.
The client is Soverign House Developments Ltd who are based in Livingston. |

Design TeamThe Design Team comprised ThermoneX structural Engineers (Walls & Floors), Scott Bennett Associates (Steel Design,
Wolgar Hunter, (Foundations, Client's Engineers) and ARM Architects (Client's Architect). The timber frame apartment which will sit on the basement was manufactured by Stewart Milne Scotland. Internal WallsMore than 60 internal walls, as well as lift and stair walls and concerete lintels were fixed to support the steel beams before the hollowcore units for the ground floor were fitted. |
